As a Manitoba artist Barbara has found great enjoyment from creating bright, whimsical, playful artworks and in the transformation of her creations over time. The foundations of Barbara’s artwork always start the same with a simple black line. She does’t start a work with a start to finish plan … her drawings take on a life of their own as she moves across the canvas.

From framed art to a line of ArtWear clothing her works are always shifting and progressing. Each work expresses an individual story that is told through the lines, shapes, and repetitive patterns.

As a graduate of the University of Manitoba School of Art Barbara has combined many elements of her educational foundations in textiles, formal art training, and historical influences to develop her own style.

Barbara’s work has been shown throughout Manitoba at several charitable fundraising events from Victoria Beach Club, Canadian Cancer Society, Mood Disorders Gala, Big Brothers, Big Sisters Gala, Golden Girl Financial Gala, The Unexpected Gift and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Collectors of her work include famous Winnipeg actress Nia Vardalos. Next season, look forward to seeing her prints on a line of denim jackets.
