I love watercolour as a medium. Beautiful watercolours touched to damp, rugged paper seem to have a vigorous life of their own. For me, guiding them is the most frustratingly-satisfying creative experience that I have ever had. I use a variety of techniques in my work – from loose washes to detailed crispness – trying to evoke a feeling or capture a moment. I find great inspiration in the beauty and diversity of the land and people that surround me and the hand of God behind it all. An integral part of this pursuit of passion is the loving support of my husband and family.
Having lived in Winnipeg for most of my life, I am a self-taught watercolour artist who painted part-time until moving to our home at Bird River, where I am now able to explore the medium in a concentrated way. In 2015, I entered my first juried art show, winning 1st and 3rd place in the watercolour category, exhibited in the 2016 Rural and Northern Juried Art Exhibit, and have works displayed across Canada. I am a member of the Boreal Shores Art Tour, Pinawa Art Gallery and Gwen Fox Art Gallery.
