ROBERT SCURFIELD is an acrylic painter born in Saskatchewan. He currently lives and works from his home in Winnipeg and from his cottage at Victoria Beach, Manitoba. His loose brush strokes add dimension to dappled light on forest floors and trees blowing in the wind. Each scene captures a moment in time. Leaves turn to warm reds and oranges, or long spindly shadows stretch through the canvas, creating a sense of time passing, crystallized by the paint. Scurfield takes inspiration from his travels throughout Canada and abroad. His works balance between giving the viewer an immediate sense of place and instilling each landscape with depth. His paintings celebrate the magnitude and diversity of Canada’s natural landscapes. More recently recently Bob was proud and honored to have his art work shown at the Agora Gallery in Chelsea, NYC.
ROSEMARY SCURFIELD lives in Winnipeg who designs and creates fused glass work in her home studio. She began her love affair with glass in the late 90’s taking stained glass classes at Prairie Stained Glass. In the last 5 years her focus has been fused glass and now produces bowls, plates, candle holders and other unique pieces by using a kiln in a two step process of an initial firing to fuse glass together then a second firing to slump it to shape using a form or mold. Rosemary’s creations reflect her love of colour, texture and nature. Her glass pieces are both functional and wonderful to look at! She has exhibited for two years in the St. Peters Anglican Church artist’s event, Emerging Artists Exhibition and Sale. She also has shown and sold her glass in her home and at her Victoria Beach cottage in an art show and sale with her husband Bob Scurfield
