Amanda Beakes
I’m Amanda Beakes, an acrylic painter inspired by the landscapes and quiet moments that shape my everyday life. I live in the Beaches area, where I’m endlessly inspired by the beauty around me — wide lake horizons, my garden, thriving plants, and the comforting textures and moments that represent home.
I paint primarily in acrylic on canvas, building layers and letting colour and movement guide me until a scene feels alive. Water is a constant muse — the hush of early mornings by the shore, the shimmer of light dancing across the lake, the nostalgia tucked into a sunset sky. Lake life feels like a heartbeat in my work.
I’m deeply drawn to the beauty in ordinary moments. I notice them, hold onto them, and try to translate that feeling onto canvas.
My process is intuitive and layered — sometimes messy, always heartfelt. Through vibrant colour, detail, and softness, I hope my work invites you to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the simple, meaningful beauty that surrounds you every day.
