My mother left me a very large fishing tackle box with no fishing tackle inside but instead paintbrushes and acrylic and watercolour paint tubes. One day I opened the box and this was my beginning. I started with oils but due to the lack of classes switched to water colours. Over the past few years I’ve taken several watercolour classes at the Forum Art Centre. Generally there was a different instructor for each session with their own style and technique. Thus providing me with unique methods, insights, tips, critiques and of course opinions. So my medium of choice is watercolours. I prefer bold, vibrant, glowing and flowing colours and a larger paper size. My subject matter is quite varied … landscapes, viking ship, bears, whales, birds, sunsets, still lifes etc. Mostly I enjoy the creative process and usually the result.
