Kelley Sookram
Kelley Sookram is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice is rooted in deep reverence for the natural world and a commitment to reciprocity, connection, and place-based creation. Drawing inspiration from the sacred shores of Mistehay Sakahegan (Lake Winnipeg), she gathers natural elements such as driftwood, stones, and sea glass, integrating them into mixed-media works that honour the land’s stories and spirit.
Her Element Art combines shoreline materials within framed watercolour compositions, while her driftwood Wind Dancers, Amulets, and Jewelry incorporate crystals and thoughtfully upcycled objects. Each piece is assembled with intention, reflecting her belief that art can serve as a bridge between the human and natural worlds.
Kelley’s work seeks to foster wonder, reflection, and authentic connection. Through her practice, she invites viewers into a space of remembrance and inner knowing, encouraging a renewed relationship with the natural environment and with their own inherent wisdom. Her art is both a personal expression and a collective offering — one that honours sacred space while empowering others to reconnect with their own.
