Kelly Murray
Kelly Murray is a multidisciplinary artist based just outside Stead, MB. She makes art to capture moments in time, exploring feelings, memory, and the quiet moments that stay with us long after they pass. Art is a creative outlet for her mental health and a way to support others who struggle with social anxiety.
Kelly mainly works with painting and mixed media. She enjoys careful details, patterns, and symbolic elements that add depth and meaning to her work. Some pieces feel soft and calm, while others are bright and bold. That balance reflects real life — how we can feel strong and unsure, peaceful and overwhelmed, sometimes all at once.
A big part of Kelly’s practice is making art that feels welcoming. She believes art should be something people can connect to, not something that feels distant or hard to understand.
Kelly finds inspiration in everyday life: nature, life, and the emotional ups and downs we all experience. Her work is influenced by expressive illustration and intuitive creativity, but most of all by simply paying attention to the world around her.
For Kelly, art is a way to make sense of things and to feel connected. Each piece is a small story and an invitation — to pause, reflect, and feel a little less alone. Her hope is that her work brings comfort, curiosity, and a sense of shared experience to anyone who spends time with it.
