In 2012, and having an education background and career in business, Marilyn knew for her success as an artist she would need to put together a business plan and seek out an accomplished artist for mentoring. Her longtime friend – Joy Skinner. With Joy’s guidance experience and a plan she was able to leap into her new career with confidence.
Marilyn exhibits artwork at the Gwen Fox Art Gallery in Selkirk as well as Cre8ry Art Gallery and Studio in Winnipeg, Manitoba and participates at the Boreal Shore Art Tour yearly. She has also received “Artist in the School” grants teaching children in northern communities as well as teaching children and adults in her home.
Marilyn’s artistic themes include local wilderness, prairie vistas, farm yard animals, birds, flowers, trees, winter scenes, wildlife, boats, planes, beaches, oceans and images from her travels. Her various compositions intend to evoke thought, humor, and connections.
Her artwork has been recognized and displayed nationally and internationally as well as in many corporations, and government offices.
