Rosemary Scurfield is a Winnipeg artist who designs and creates fused glass artwork in her home studio. Rosemary’s interest in glass began in the late 90’s when she first took classes on how to make stained glass pieces at Prairie Stained Glass in Winnipeg. Embracing this methodology she created beautiful stained glass work for many years.

In the last 5 years Rosemary went back to Prairie Studio Glass and took classes in how to fuse glass and and has embraced kiln formed glass. Producing pieces generally requires 2 or more separate firings in the kiln, one to fuse glass pieces together and a second to slump it into shape using a form or mold.

Rosemary’s creations reflect her love of colour, texture and nature. The fusing and slumping method of hot glass allows her to create plates, bowls, candle holders, coasters and other unique pieces in vibrant colours and simple elegant designs. They are both functional and wonderful to look at!

Rosemary has participated, for the last three years, in the St. Peters Anglican Church artist’s event, Emerging Artists Exhibition and Sale. She also has shown and sold her glass in her home and at her Victoria Beach cottage in an art show and sale with her husband Bob Scurfield.
